The synopsis of the story is Lily is waiting for the Pizza Man and her mom is playing a game to help distract her from being impatient. I had taken it out of the library for our food themed semester to read them. I was so sad when I tried to buy this book new and found out that it was out of print. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But it just seems crazy to me that we’re on book four of what I’m going to assume is at least a five-book series (judging by the series page on Goodreads), and we’re still in the “will-they-or-won’t-they” stage of the relationship. ![]() I will say, that once I got through at least the first half, I did feel like the story got better, especially as there was some further character development and exploration of the relationship between Veronica and Stoker. That’s not to say that it was a bad book, per se, but it just lacked the magic and balance of a great mystery and fun relationship building that the last three did. Sadly, A Dangerous Collaboration was a misfire, and it hurts me, considering how much I enjoyed the prior three volumes. ![]() |
